Christoforos Asimis

Christoforos Asimis was born in Santorini and studied painting and sacred painting at the Fine Art School of Athens University. Upon completion of the 5 year course in 1970, he graduated with honours.

He has exhibited in Athens at one-man and group exhibitions and also at the National Annual Exhibitions. In January 1967 he won the First Prize in the National Competition of Young Artists. Since 1974 he has lived and worked on Santorini, where he has decorated with murals the Cathedral and other churches.

He specializes in the landscape and light of Santorini. The Greek Ministry of Civilization and various painting collectors, both in Greece and abroad, have bought a number of his paintings.
